FAQ
Detailed answers for real PDF work.
Marketing pages stay sharp. This page gets into the small details: privacy, upload behavior, export rules, billing, browser support, tool limits, and what each promise really means.
What is BlaBla PDF?
- BlaBla PDF is a browser-based PDF product for creating, editing, signing, annotating, organizing, converting, compressing, protecting, cleaning, and exporting PDFs.
Is BlaBla PDF a PDF editor or a PDF tools product?
- Both. The PDF editor is for open document work such as creating, editing, signing, annotating, and arranging pages. The standard PDF tools are focused actions such as compress, merge, split, rotate, convert, protect, inspect, redact, watermark, stamp, and remove metadata.
Do my PDFs upload to a server?
- Standard PDF tools are designed to process file content locally in your browser where supported. BlaBla PDF may contact the backend for account login, billing, device activation, plan status, support, and successful-export quota checks, but standard tool processing does not need to upload PDF content.
Why is local processing better for privacy?
- When a PDF is uploaded to an online tool, you lose direct control over where that file goes, how it is processed, how long it is kept, and what infrastructure touches it. Keeping standard PDF tool processing in the browser reduces that exposure.
Does BlaBla PDF change my original file?
- No. Standard tools create a new output file for download. Your original local file stays unchanged unless you replace it yourself outside BlaBla PDF.
What does Free include?
- Free includes access to standard PDF tools with one successful export per standard PDF tool per UTC day, plus one active device by default. Failed exports should not consume the daily limit.
What does PRO include?
- PRO includes unlimited successful exports across standard PDF tools and final PDF editor exports. Trialing users are treated as PRO during the active trial period.
What counts as a successful export?
- A successful export means BlaBla PDF created an output file from a standard PDF tool. The daily Free quota should be counted only after successful output, not after failed attempts.
Can I create a PDF from scratch?
- Yes. The product direction includes a New PDF workspace for starting with a blank page, adding content, saving a project, and exporting a finished PDF.
Can I edit an existing PDF?
- Yes. Edit PDF is for opening an existing document and adding visible text, images, signatures, annotations, stamps, marks, and page changes. Some existing PDF text may not behave like text in a word processor, especially in scans or flattened files.
Can I sign a PDF?
- Yes. BlaBla PDF helps you add a visible signature to a PDF. It is not a regulated identity verification, qualified electronic signature, or legal signature-validation service.
Can I redact sensitive information from a PDF?
- BlaBla PDF can black out visible matching text in supported PDFs. Always review the exported file before sharing, especially for scanned or image-based PDFs. Do not treat browser redaction as a legal guarantee for every file type.
Can I remove PDF metadata?
- Yes. The Remove Metadata tool is intended to clean common hidden document fields such as title, author, subject, keywords, creator, creation date, modification date, XMP metadata where available, and related document info.
Can I compress a PDF for email or upload portals?
- Yes. Compress PDF is built for reducing file size for email, upload portals, storage, and sharing. If no safe reduction is available, the tool should avoid damaging the document just to force a smaller number.
Can I merge several PDFs into one file?
- Yes. Merge PDF combines multiple related PDFs into one ordered PDF packet. Review the final order before sending or archiving the result.
Can I split a PDF into separate pages or ranges?
- Yes. Split PDF can separate pages, extract selected pages, or produce smaller PDFs depending on the selected split mode.
Can I convert PDFs to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, images, CSV, or text?
- BlaBla PDF includes PDF conversion modes. Text-based PDFs usually work better than scanned or image-only PDFs. Complex layouts may need manual review after conversion.
Why did conversion not preserve the exact layout?
- PDF is a final-document format, not a normal editable document format. Some conversions rely on text extraction and may not reproduce complex layouts, columns, tables, fonts, or scanned text perfectly.
Can scanned PDFs be edited?
- Scanned PDFs often behave like images. You may be able to add visible content on top, but editing the original scanned text usually requires OCR, which is a separate capability.
Can I use BlaBla PDF for official documents?
- You can use BlaBla PDF to prepare and export files, but you remain responsible for checking whether a document, signature, redaction, format, or submission meets the rules of the receiving organization.
How do subscriptions and trials work?
- The public paid plan is PRO with monthly and yearly billing options and a 7-day trial where configured. Billing is handled through Stripe. Exact price, currency, trial availability, renewal, and cancellation details are shown during checkout and in the account area.
How do I cancel PRO?
- You can manage or cancel PRO from the billing area in your account. If a subscription is cancelled, access follows the status returned by the billing and entitlement system.
How many devices can I use?
- Free and PRO currently include one active device by default. Device activation is checked server-side so your plan state and device allowance stay consistent.
Which browsers are supported?
- The extension targets Chrome/Chromium first. Edge and Firefox support depends on the current store release and packaging status.
How do I contact support?
- Use the contact page and include the tool name, browser, file type, plan state, and what happened. For visual or export issues, include screenshots when possible.
